1. Japanese Government Scholarship

1)   Recommendation of an embassy/consulate general

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho, MEXT), Japanese diplomatic missions abroad seek for soliciting applications for MEXT scholarships. 2)   Recommendation of a university

Based on the international academic exchange agreements, the university recommends a certain number of excellent international students who are scheduled to enroll the university and need scholarship to the MEXT who makes the final selection.

2. JASSO Honours Scholarship for Privately
Financed International Students

(Gakushu Shoreihi)

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) honours scholarships for privately financed international students who show excellent academic records as well as wonderful personalities and are also in need for financial assistance. Scholarship amount is 70,000 yen per month for graduate students including research students and 50,000 yen per month for undergraduate students.

 

3. JASSO Short-Term Student Exchange Promotion
Program (Outbound) Scholarship

  This program intends to promote student exchange between universities in Japan and their overseas partner institutions. JASSO offers scholarships for short-term international students who are admitted to a Japanese university (or graduate school) for a period of more than 3 months and up to 1 year.
