I completed my Master's in Computer Science from Nagoya Institute of technology between the period of October 2002 to March 2005. It had almost been a whole of two and half years during which I spent my time learning Japanese, doing my course work and participating in a number of other activities in parallel.

Those two years, though I had to spend far away from my family, were the best part of my life as far as I could remember. Nagoya Institute of Technology gave me the freedom to learn new things and in the way I wanted to learn them. As part of my course work I was required to publish research papers which I managed to do with lots of help from my professors. I was even given the opportunity to travel in and beyond the country to present my research work. Those two years of research experience has aided me to obtain a job in a place of my preference in my own home country.

Apart from studies and course work my study period holds a lots of memories which I wouldn't forget. The International Students center which operates especially for the welfare of International Students at Nagoya Institute of Technology plays a very important role in each of these memories. It is often said that the Japanese culture could shock a new comer. So for a foreign student unaware of the language, the eating habits and the customs of the people it could come down as a big blow. Our Japanese teachers understood us in this matter and we were gradually introduced into the Japanese customs.

The International house at Nagoya Institute of Technology deserves special mention anytime and anywhere. The International House is called as [Kokusai Kouryuu Kaikan] in Japanese. In my one year stay at the International House I actually learnt the meaning of Kouryuu(exchange) in its true essence. We could make a lot of friends from various countries share our culture with them and also learn their culture.

Everyday of my study at Nagoya Institute of Technology holds a special memory which I still fondly remember and relive.
